We’re proud of being one of the few bands from the UK to be invited to the International Irish Music Festival Dungarvan.
We’re billed as ‘No Ordinary Folk’ and that’s more to do with our personalities as you’ll see. Here’s a bit more about us…
Kevin Sauntry
Big Kev is the lead singer, song writer, guitarist, mandolin player, bodhran player and frontman of the band. He hails from a rich culture of root music. Brought over from Ireland and reared in Manchester by his banjo playing mum, Kev was always in the thick of everything. This is graphically apparent in his performance where you find yourself rooted in the passion, humour and energy of someone who definitely has walked the walk.
Dave Camrass
Dave is the fiddle virtuoso of the Marbles. He can switch from traditional Irish to traditional jazz at the flick of his wrist. His speed and riffs take on a life of their own. He is a most excellent creative exponent of the instrument he loves. He blends his classical training with fiddle styles of root music which adds an innovative and exciting dimension to the Marbles music.
Sam Johnson
Sam is the youngest member of the band. Yet you are left wondering how he’s managed to be accomplished on so many instruments: bass, keyboards, guitar, piccolo. He’s also a fine vocalist and, at times, a Musical Director.
